Nothing

'Apart from me you can do nothing..' John 15:5

Japanese election tomorrow. Exciting, but whichever party wins I hope they have the sense and humility to realise that without God`s help they will totally fail to lift us out of the mess we are in...

Life

'I was hating life' Ecclesiastes 2:17

I have suicidal thoughts fairly often. I have had pills in the past, talked to psychiatrists, but these days I just don`t need the hassle or the expense.

Ridiculed

'We are ridiculed...' 1 Corinthians 4:10

People often make fun of Christians, both in the West and in Japan. They can have their fun for now but as a worldview it doesn`t have much shelflife.

We are spared the worst, really. In many countries people are still murdered because of Jesus.

Young

' The glory of the young is their strength' Proverbs 20:29

My 8 year old sure has a lot of energy.

Unified

'All the people assembled in Jerusalem with a unified purpose.' Ezra 3:1

Been to several different churches recently. It breaks my heart that Christians from different backgrounds mistrust each other but I am guilty of that myself all too often. The Anglican tradition I was baptised and confirmed into stresses tolerance highly but is far from perfect in itself. But we do all agree on the most important things, like the fact that Jesus is alive.

Gift

'They gave them many valuable gifts...' Ezra 1:6

A new pc to use. I don`t deserve it.
